Jelena Zeleskov Doric

Jelena is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and accredited clinical supervisor registered and trained in Europe and Australia.
She is registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and able to provide Medicare benefits for psychology services as well as WorkCover and Transport Accident Commission services.
Jelena completed extensive training in Gestalt psychotherapy in Serbia, Malta, Germany and Italy. Before moving to Australia, Jelena worked as a Research Fellow (School of Medicine, University of Belgrade) and Institute of Criminological and Sociological Research in Belgrade. Jelena also worked as a consultant clinical psychologist and psychotherapist for Sava Perovic Foundation Centre for Genito-Urethral Reconstructive Surgery, Belgrade, Serbia. In addition, Jelena worked as a Lecturer in Psychology and Psychological Therapies at Charles Darwin University (2016-2018) and a Discipline Lead and Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Australian College of Applied Psychology (2018-2020).
Jelena's qualifications include: Bachelor of Psychology with Honours (University of Nis, Serbia), Master in Applied Psychology (Psychotherapy) (University of Novi Sad, Serbia), Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology (PhD in Clinical Psychology, University of Belgrade, Serbia), Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy (five-years experiential psychotherapy training) (Gestalt Studio Belgrade, Serbia), Master in Gestalt Psychotherapy (Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute Malta, Malta), Postgraduate program in Psychopathology and Contemporary Disturbances (Istituto di Gestalt HCC Italy, Sicily, Italy) and Master of Clinical Psychology (Charles Sturt University, Australia).
Jelena participated in numerous gestalt and body psychotherapy trainings across Europe and she completed psychotherapy workshop with Ruella Frank delivered by the Center for Somatic Studies, New York, USA. She also finished one-year training program in Relational Living Body Psychotherapy with Julianne Apper Obber in Berlin (Germany).
In addition to this, Jelena was a Vice-President of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (2010-2016) and the Board member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (2010-2016). She was a full member of the American Psychological Association for more than 10 years and a full member of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy for more than 15 years. Jelena was a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (2017-2022) and Singapore Psychological Society (2018-2022). Also, she was an International Co-Chair of Gestalt Australia and New Zealand (GANZ). Upon being active in many organisations for several years Jelena decided to put her memberships on hold and maintain her psychology registration status in Europe and Australia.
Jelena is also a Visiting Professor at American University of Cyprus (remote). Her research, writing and advocacy are focused on attachment theory, resilience, human movement and body process important in understanding relationship between client and therapist. So far, Jelena authored and co-authored over 40 books, chapters, peer-reviewed papers, national and international conference presentations in the fields of resilience, attachment theory and psychotherapy. Since 2012 she is reviewing academic papers for various international journals. She has been awarded numerous national and international scholarships and fellowships.
Jelena collaborated with various organisations as a consultant psychologist such as Advance Healthcare and Ramsay Psychology.
Jelena has recently moved to Perth where she is excited to continue with her private practice Gestalt Healthcare.
In addition, Jelena works as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Neurospine Institute and Psychology ADF Recruitment Officer for Australian Defence Force in Perth, Western Australia.
